HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD MUST LEAVE AUSTRALIA
After a record-breaking, four-year run, and over 1 million tickets sold, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child must close at the Princess Theatre on 9 July.
There’s less than one month left before the Hogwarts Express leaves Platform 9¾ for the final time, but there is still plenty of time for the muggles of Melbourne to experience this spellbinding production.
The multi award-winning play originally cast a spell over the city as a two-part event, opening in February 2019, before being boldly restaged as a single ticket experience from May 2022. The production welcomed people from every state in Australia as well as visitors from New Zealand, the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Mexico and many others to the historic Princess Theatre, following a $6 million renovation.
Over the past four years, the production has celebrated numerous landmark moments, most recently a magical partnership with LEGO® and an exciting initiative with the Department of Education. As part of Victorian Education Week, students from across the country were invited to join the ‘Behind the Curtain: Education Livestream’. Featuring cast and creatives live from the Princess Theatre, students were given behind-the-scenes access to explore the rehearsal process and the technical elements used to bring an epic production to life.
Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Princess Theatre, before the curtain falls for the final time on 9 July.
