IT’S MARY MELBOURNE LOVES

Mary Poppins continues to delight Australian audiences and Melbourne has embraced her with open arms. Rave reviews and rapturous audiences are proving that it really is Mary that Melbourne loves.

Local businesses are joining in on the Mary magic, offering spoonful of sugar deals for theatregoers. Audiences can treat themselves to a pre-show banquet menu at Longrain, Bodega, Yakimono, or Gingerboy, a Saturday high tea at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, free fries or a drink at Betty’s Burgers, limited-edition Mary Poppins cake at Laurent Little Collins Street, and discounted parking at Secure Parking Lonsdale Street.

Australian musical theatre icon Marina Prior debuted a world first in her joint roles as Bird Woman and Miss Andrew, dazzling audiences with her characterisations and powerhouse vocals. Her final performance will be taking place on Sunday 11 June, with Patti Newton and Chelsea Plumley reprising their roles as Bird Woman and Miss Andrew respectively for the final week of performances in Melbourne.

The winds will then blow Mary down south to Adelaide, with performances commencing 1 July at Adelaide Festival Centre, and across the country to Perth’s Crown Theatre in September.
