MICHAEL CASSEL GROUP WINS AT PREMIER’S NSW EXPORT AWARDS
INTERNATIONAL TOURING EARNS RECOGNITION WITH NSW EXPORTER TO SOUTHEAST ASIA AWARD
SYDNEY (Monday, 14 October 2024) – On Friday night, Michael Cassel Group was honoured with the NSW Exporter to Southeast Asia Award at the annual Premier’s NSW Export Awards.
The awards recognise the achievements and steadfast perseverance of NSW exporters, sharing their worldwide success stories.
The NSW Exporter to Southeast Asia Awards recognises outstanding export achievement in Southeast Asia in any industry sector, and was awarded to Michael Cassel Group highlighting the success of the company’s significance in presenting world-class theatre globally.
The theme for the 2024 awards was NSW’s dynamic export partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), making being recognised for exporting to Southeast Asia particularly significant.
CEO and producer Michael Cassel said: “This is wonderful recognition of our commitment to making the best theatre in the world right here in Australia, with the best local casts, musicians, crews, set builders, costume makers, designers and myriad other vendors and then, in partnership with our producing partners and creative teams, taking them to the world.”
Since its inception, Michael Cassel Group has produced international tours of HAMILTON, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, LES MISÉRABLES, THE LION KING, & JULIET and, in 2024, produced the premiere production of Sydney Theatre Company’s blockbuster hit, THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, starring global superstar Sarah Snook in London’s West End. It was announced this month that the production will make its Broadway premiere in 2025 with Snook reprising her award-winning performance.
