Les Misérables wins 5 Helpmann Awards, including Best Musical!
The 2015 Helpmann Awards, celebrating the best work on Australian stages, was held at the Capitol Theatre on Monday 27th, with our glorious set providing a spectacular backdrop for the ceremony.
This annual industry event honours artistic achievement in Australia’s live performance sectors, including musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, cabaret, opera, classical music, theatre, dance and physical theatre.
The Les Mis cast opened the show, with highlights including Kerrie Anne Greenland’s extraordinary rendition of Eponine’s ‘On My Own’, and Simon Gleeson’s heart-wrenching ‘Bring Him Home’. See the full performance below:
Les Mis went on to win 5 Helpmann Awards, including the most anticipated and prestigious award of BEST MUSICAL.
